Echuca - Butlers Pantry
Date
2026
Location
Echuca, Victoria
The existing butler’s pantry was underutilised, offering limited bench space and relying on plastic storage tubs to provide basic accessibility and organisation.
The design brief focused on improving food storage functionality, creating a dedicated area for permanently positioned baking appliances concealed from the main kitchen, and maximising the usability of the corner space through integrated water access.
The completed design responds to these requirements with a layered storage and workflow strategy. Sensor-activated under-cabinet lighting provides immediate illumination for quick pantry access, while supplementary switched lighting delivers enhanced task lighting for extended food preparation and baking activities.
Frequently used appliances, including a mixer and food processor, are housed within a concealed appliance garage, allowing them to remain permanently set up while maintaining a streamlined appearance when not in use. Open, carefully planned shelving improves visibility and accessibility, reducing reliance on storage tubs and creating a more intuitive and efficient organisational system.
A corner sink has been introduced to activate previously wasted space, improving functionality and workflow. The cabinetry is designed with removable sections to allow plumber access while maintaining a clean, integrated finish.
